The labelling of allergens must be informative and understandable for consumers, customers and users. This means that the labelling must be clearly visible and easy to read (minimum font size 1.2 mm), the font should be clear and clean and must not be blurred. In addition, the principle of uniformity applies.

The labelling of allergens is laid down in the European Food Information Regulation (FIR). It is important that the customer is aware of the substances contained in the food before making a purchase. Verbal information from the seller is only permitted if there is also underlying written documentation.
